Luigi Cimolai

As President and Owner of the Cimolai S.p.A. Group since 2006, Luigi Cimolai has driven the growth of what started as a small family business into one of the world’s leading and most respected fabricators of structural steel, with an annual turnover of $500 million and over 2,500 employees.

Luigi’s strategic vision and forward thinking has led to Cimolai’s embrace and use of technology and cutting-edge fabrication methods to expand what it is possible to construct using steel, and he is responsible for dozens of instantly recognizable structures throughout the world, designed by architects of international fame such as Renzo Piano, Santiago Calatrava, Norman Foster, Thomas Heatherwick, and Elizabeth Diller.

On the 13th of September 2004, the Italian President of the Republic awarded him the title of Grand Officer for his outstanding achievements in the realisation of important projects both in Italy and abroad, and on the 16th of July 2022, he received from Italian Senate President the ‘Eccellenza Italiana’ award for merits of creativity, innovation, and talent in the realisation of monumental and futuristic engineering works.”
